![]() | Had a quick session of SNGs over at Party the other day. You get to choose your seat at this site from those available. Now, I decided to play 4 SNGs and saw that the same 2 people were already registered for all of the games and seemingly in their 'favourite' seats with a 1 seat gap between. Assuming these were multi-table grinders (winning players with a small positive ROI over many 1000's of games) would you choose the seat to their right (so they act after you?) or their left (so they act before you?). What would be the advantages of each seat at the 3 stages of the SNG??? Be great to hear some opinions... as usual I will save my thoughts for a bit later. | I don't have the luxury of being able to play on Party but if I had the choice it would definetly be to thier left. If they are good players then I do not want them to have any advantage over me. I want them to act first and put me in a good spot for the length of the tourney. |

![]() | Sure Powda - good thoughts... however (there is always a 'however!') there are a couple of small complications 1 - SNG 'grinders' have a tendency to play a very tight early to mid-game, especially when someone has entered the pot... would expect 3 betting 'light' to be almost completely absent. 2 - The bubble, these guys will usually know that you can not call many pushes and so bu correctly shoving a wide range into you... conversely they will call much tighter than your average (non-SNG specialist) player when you shove into them. Agree that there are certainly argumements for sitting on the left, but there are also some SNG-specific reasons for choosing the seat to their right! Anyone else?? Cheers, Mark |

![]() | The simple version If a player plays similiar to me, loose and aggressive, I actually prefer to be to their right so I can raise with a lot of suited aces, Kq, medium pairs and even hands like jten suited, etc. If I'm behind them (on their left), I most often have to muck hands like these. If a player is tight/predictable I prefer to be to their left, so I can control the action and avoid donating chips when they have something. Kind of an oversimplification, but that's my general game plan. Jason

| If they are regulars ( and I think they are ) the only way to play is avoid pushing , so u HAVE to seat to the right. Although , im playing at party and usually regulars try not to get in trouble eachother. Is a very common situation that regs seat very far one for the other , and if you seat near , they stand up . |
