| Honestly, Karma I do not really know. I think when it comes to Sng strategy i have it down cold. I have the complete package. I know when to change gears I know when to back off and slow down, I usually know when it is time for a coin flip. I think sometimes I do not change gears enough or properly when i play cash games because there are no blinds/to players remaining ratio. For some reason I have a tendency to just get stuck in a hand that i can not get off of. My read is usually right I know imlosing to trips but i cant fold top 2 pair. Or i have a set and I know he has a strait but gamble too much hoping the board will pair. Just can play a whole session very well but that 1 hand i can never get off of.

Presumably your playing no-limit cash games?? One idea you may experiment with is to buy short in the no limit games, its similar to tournament strategy, you limit your losses to what you have in front of you. If you double through once or twice, you cash out and then log into another game short. Of course the downside is that you don't win as much, but you don't lose as much when you get yourself in a pickle either. Jason

| Yea that is a good idea Karma. I notice I usually can handle these bad beats or cold hands because I am almost always the chip leader in a tournament unless I get Bad Beet early. By the time i get to 4 or 5 handed I have a chip lead to suffer one of these beats. Of course no chip lead will protct you from 2 or 3 o fthese beats in a row.

| Interesting discussion. One of my biggest problems with poker has always been the motivation factor. I have never been able to understand how people are able to grind it at the same game (stakes etc...) for months at a time. Imo, its probably one of the things a player needs to learn to be able to become a consistently winning player. If your forever chopping and changing games/stakes its hard to consistently be up (obv if your an mtts player you will constantly be at different buy-ins, but you get the point...) After the PCA/Million in January this year I barely played any poker until May/June. I just couldn't get motivated to play any MTTs, and my online cash/SnG game needed alot of work at the time. Now, I set myself goals. Not monetary or ROI goals, because imo your just setting yourself up for failure when you set them kind of goals. But just volume goals. In the month of July I probably want to play 1000 SnGs and 15,000 hands low limit cash games. I have probably greatly improved in setting and accomplishing these goals this year. For the last week of June I've already played 200 $10 SnGs (hopefully will finish up with 300+) and 7,000 hands at cash games. So in summary, imo if you want to grind set yourself 'volume' goals...and just love the game your 'specialising' in. I actually love grinding the SnGs just because of the theory/variables behind bubble play etc... |

| I like that view Never_Race. Just set goals for hands played/amount of SNG's. I like it.
