Like I said not anymore, but a couple years ago for sure. Being a sponsored player on Full Tilt, I believe he is gettting some money from them, plus has the ability to get fronted money to play with because it's good for the site. Huck also gets put into games by backers. Huck is a good no limit player but he has become "desensitized" to money. I see this a lot in poker players who win a lot, then lose a lot. They just lose track of how much money runs through their fingers.

It's widely believed that Matusow has almost 0 equity left in his Full Tilt shares due to excessive losses playing online. I believe Matusow is quoted as saying he has never cashed out from playing online poker,

Actually, I'm not sure Grizzle has ever had money, if he does he doesn't hang on to it long. He is a major hustler, I'd hate to know how many people he owes money to.

I had played with Joe a fair amount of times just prior to him winning that event. He used to play the no limit game at the Palms (2-5), and either the 5-10 no limit or 10-20 no limit at the Bellagio if he was running good.

Joe is actually a fairly decent player, but he made the same mistakes that many before him have made. Winning big tournament, then playing sky high. Dump a few hundred thousand, then go on monkey tilt trying to get it back and make the situation worse.

I should have mentioned it when I dropped his name, but he only had 50% of himself when he won the WPT championship. Joe Cassidy had the other 50%, I was in the Bellagio Poker Room just after he won and they came in together to get paid

Cassidy seems like he is a top notch player who rarely is broke. From what i heard he is a sick limit player.

His nickname is "The Sheriff", he will not be bluffed ever in a limit game.

I've played with Joe quite a bit actually, maybe 4 years ago he played a fair bit of 30-60 at the Bellagio. He is a pretty decent player, very, very, hyper-aggressive.

A lot of his success comes from fearlessness, guys that dont' care if they go broke and that are incredibly aggressive can be very difficult to beat. My understanding is that he plays very well short handed, heads-up, limit hold'em.

I wrote a blog post about 3 years ago:

Everyone Want’s to be a Millionaire | A Poker Blog | I'm Not Lucky, I Have Good Karma !

I didn't say it in the post, but Joe was the one saying he lost 79k, no biggy.

I'm not sure what his current status is, I haven't seen him in awhile, assuming he is playing shorthanded on the interent which I beleive he has become a specialist at.

So is Ivey as rich as people say he is? Or does he just have the ability to hoard money away and not waste it on stupid stuff.

Personally i think he is the best player in the world, but i also believe his wife is a big factor. He was with the same girl since high school which means I am sure when he was building his bankroll he never had to worry about going out and dropping 10k-20k at a club or get into any bad habits such as drugs.

He just seems like he has a head on his shoulders.

We should have an "ask Karma" thread where we ask Jason about the Bellagio's poker room... I think I am going to start one.

It is great and I strongly suggest going out in June. It is like hte center of the universe during June at the Rio. I remember playing at the MGM when I was out there last June and a few players had no idea the WSOP was happening right down the street. I actually had one tell me that "it doesn't air until November and that I was crazy" or something along those lines. He had like 2 buddies at the table and they both like laughed at me. I had played the 2K event the day before. It was funny as just about the whole table looked at them and looked at me and we all just kind of chuckled. Odd how those guys ended up going bust pretty quick. This was in a 5-10NL game btw.

I enjoy the MGM. I was at a poker game the other night and had a guy tell me he got a poker rate at the Rio, in June, of $70 a night!!! I still have to call to see if they still have this offer available but I don't even knwo if I believe him. Karma might be the one to ask. I actually have never stayed at the actual casino as they tend to be expensive and you really don't spend any time in our room so I try to stay at cheap motels or hotels without casinos to save a few bucks.

Powda.... Google up "the Borgata Water Club" Take the tour of this new place in Atlantic City. My fiance and I decided to combine a bachelor/Bachelorette party in August and my brother booked 2 suites there. We are taking group of 12 people including us.

Nothing like sitting pool side with some alcohol and the borgata card room within walking distance.
