| If I were going to call the turn I would have raised the flop to find out where I am early in the hand. The tough part is that you are OOP so I would fold the turn as played.

| | Wait, were you OOP? I agree w/ Powda, and I think you can see the error too...fold the turn. I can make an argument to smooth call the flop w/ position though and see how he plays the turn. |

| | I like PoWda's point of knowing your turn action. If you are planning on calling on the turn, then folding the river as played. I'd rather just raise the flop and take control of the pot, see what action opponent takes, if they call, shut it down and check the turn, hope for a check on the river, if they re-raise you just fold. Flat calling is kind of weak in my opinion, doesn't give you any information, and opponents will make continuation bets. What did you put your opponent on? Flush draw (which got there on the river?) This hand is a good example of thinking about the betting on the turn. If you call the turn, are you going to call the river? and if so how much? if the answer is no to calling the river, then you probably shouldn't call the turn. A lot of different variables to consider, but thinking about future bet sizes is always somethign you need to consider when making a call. Jason

| TBH I don't know why I didn't raise the flop. The player was fairly new to table. I always consider a player betting th flop 1st as weak when betting against the pre flop raiser ( a strong hand would let them flop cont bet) but didn't know if was betting TP weak kicker or draw - as played I think turn is a clear fold - i guess I felt it would be hard for him to bet the river as well with just a jack or draw. but as the title states, I know I made more than 1 mistake here |

| raising flop is terribad unless you calling, if villian is aggro he can shove over with a massive range that we cant call, never raise for info its just bad and spewy and results oriantated, put villians on ranges and make decision based on that,i mean if i raise flop here im stacking off unless villian is loose passive and just doesnt bluff but will call down with worse, like say we can raise for value but fold to a 3bet, but agaisnt most if i do raise its with the intention of stacking off, yeah its high varainced at times they will show up with QQ+ Jx, but alot of the time the shove over with worse its all about player types, if guy is a nit here turn is prob a fold, if he loose passive i prob raise flop- bet turn- check back river, loose aggro i prob raise flop get it in or call flop with the intention of getting it in on most turns, unless he barrels alot then i just call-call-call, as played its looks good river is deffo fold unless he shown he capable of making crazy bluffs and barrels alot |

| | Fold flop. Jx is a huge part of his range not to mention sets and combo draws. Raising is never getting called by worse so all that will do is charge you even more to find out you're beat. If I had reads that he is doing this with a wide range then I may call here and reevaluate the turn but this is a strong line and a lot of players at this level are multitabling and will lead out with their sets so that they can 3bet the flop. |
