| I've dropped back to play money until I plug a few (several) holes and add to my dwindling bankroll. Yes, I probably shouldn't have been in the hand to begin with, but....table was short handed with 2 players sitting out. Full Tilt Poker Game #6860691596: 250 Play Money Sit & Go (52142709), Table 6 - 100/200 - No Limit Hold'em Seat 5: Shamus5 (3,645), is sitting out Seat 6: ertrauma (9,174) Seat 7: SimonClick (46,726) Seat 8: Doyle-Tx (3,310), is sitting out Seat 9: bjshipley (7,064) Doyle-Tx posts the small blind of 100 bjshipley posts the big blind of 200 The button is in seat #7 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to ertrauma [9h As] Shamus5 folds ertrauma has 15 seconds left to act ertrauma raises to 500 SimonClick calls 500 Doyle-Tx folds bjshipley calls 300 *** FLOP *** [5d 5c 4c] bjshipley checks ertrauma checks SimonClick checks *** TURN *** [5d 5c 4c] [4d] bjshipley checks ertrauma checks SimonClick checks *** RIVER *** [5d 5c 4c 4d] [Ah] bjshipley has 15 seconds left to act bjshipley bets 600 ertrauma has 15 seconds left to act ertrauma raises to 2,000 SimonClick folds bjshipley calls 1,400 *** SHOW DOWN *** ertrauma shows [9h As] two pair, Aces and Fives bjshipley shows [Ts Ad] two pair, Aces and Fives bjshipley wins the pot (5,600) with two pair, Aces and Fives *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 5,600 | Rake 0 Board: [5d 5c 4c 4d Ah] Seat 5: Shamus5 didn't bet (folded) Seat 6: ertrauma showed [9h As] and lost with two pair, Aces and Fives Seat 7: SimonClick (button) folded on the River Seat 8: Doyle-Tx (small blind) folded before the Flop Seat 9: bjshipley (big blind) showed [Ts Ad] and won (5,600) with two pair, Aces and Fives Regardless of any critiques of my play, can someone please tell me what I'm missing that this was not a split pot? Don't the 2 pair on the board play with the Ace high hole cards? How did the kicker come into play??? ![]()

| I don't mind opening here when your effectively 3-handed. I probably don't opt for the 2.5x however, but it doesn't make a huge difference on the hand. I don't mind re-popping it on the river either. I think calling behind loses alot of value from A2-A8. You'll see alot of people leading here playing the draw, thinking that they have a reasonably good chance of picking it up. Usually AJ+ can be taken out of the range, because you'd expect a 3-bet pre-flop when its 3-handed. A 4/5 is certainly in his range too, but being so deep, I think you have to push for a bit of value on the river. Obviously if you re-raise and he moved you, you fold. Also, its not a split because you take your highest 2 pairs (A's and 5's) then the highest kicker. So he has A's and 5's T-high, while you have the same 9-high. One last thing, try keep the results out when posting strategy hands (unless they are part of the question). Helps us remain objective when analysing. :) |

| let me give u some advice on play money poker. Your better off on not playing it because it develops bad habits. Just play in freerolls where there are prizes even if there small. Play money is only good for learning the rules of the game. Go to micro limits and start from there. PPL in play money dont try hard compared to real money circumstance. |

| Thanks for your input...yes, play $$$ is not a reliable indicator of how real money situations work; I basically use it to see if I'm in with the best hand or not. I usually play micro, but was in such a bad variance downslope, I thought I'd not lose any more $$$ for a time... I'll leave the results out with future posts, I was told that before...I just forgot. ![]() On my way to work today, I thought to myself, "Self, what a dumb question you posted about why it wasn't a split...the 4's on the board were counterfieted." ![]()
