| Hi All I have plans to develop some free online Flash based tools for refining one's play skills. I first was thinking of blackjack card count training, but maybe Holdem odds calculations drills would have a larger audience. Not planning to provide the depth and variety some of the commercial applications provide, rather I am thinking of providing drills simulating real world conditions that enhance one's calculation speed, to help cut back on the head scratch tells. I'm not much of a gambler, I am more interested in the simulation/math aspects of the project. ANY suggestions as to what area such a tool should focus on would be greatly appreciated Thanks Jake. |

| Question one. Is this spam?

| >>Spam? It wouldn't be very effective spam without some link... Really, I came here directly from a Macintosh poker site, an issue for Mac users is most of the stand-alone training-simulator applications are for Windows only. I was looking to address this partialy by creating some in Flash that work on either platform. So again, anyone who has specific ideas on drills or exercises that would help your game, let me know. |

| | You could go with a Flash Card type of game. On my Iphone there is a game called "Brain Toot" or something like that. It asks you a series of questions, the quicker you answer them, the better score you get and it beeps at you if you are wrong. So for example, you could have a question like. Playing Texas hold em, and you flop a Flush Draw with two over cards. Assuming the flush is good and that either of your over cards are good, how many outs do you have? a. 9 b. 11 c. 13 d. 15 Next Questions. Ok, so you have 15 outs, what % of the time will you win the pot?? Develop a series of questions that are related to one another, and then build a system that rewards quick answers, and penalizes wrong answers. Hope that helps, Jason

| Thanks Jason I appreciate the tips. I had in mind setting up scenarios employing real card images and some 'think fast' pressures, like time limits or bonuses. Show a hand at the flop ask player to enter the number of outs, the pot odds or perhaps the odds for all hands, perhaps with a ballpark click on a bar graph rather than having to type an exact figure. The right drills might accelerate one's reaching confident on the fly calculation, so they can show the same casual appearance on any hand. |

| Why would you need software to calculate odds etc. just a piece of paper with pot odds and odds/percentages of hitting is all that is needed |

| Sorry to say I haven't found the time as yet to persue implementing this project yet. One idea I'm looking at is enhancing the brain's processing capability in specific areas with accelerating drill & test cycles, sort of how that Eye-Q training system helps reading speed and comprehension, they say even olster brains have elasticity. |
