| I had notes on this villian from a past encounter...TAG with good to excellent hands at showdowns. I would not, could not pull the trigger. What do you think his hand range was? (A mathboy I am not). Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (9 handed) Hero ($49.70) Button ($80.60) SB ($50) BB ($51.50) UTG ($25.50) UTG+1 ($32.25) MP1 ($50) MP2 ($25.60) MP3 ($90.15) Preflop: Hero is CO with </IMG>, </IMG>. 2 folds, MP1 calls $0.50, MP2 calls $0.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $1.65, Button calls $1.65, 2 folds, MP1 calls $1.15, MP2 folds. Flop: ($6.20) </IMG>, </IMG>, </IMG> (3 players)MP1 checks, Hero bets $2.75, Button folds, MP1 raises to $5.5, Hero calls $2.75. Turn: ($17.20) </IMG> (2 players)MP1 bets $9, Hero calls $9. River: ($35.20) </IMG> (2 players)MP1 bets $33.85 (All-In), Hero folds. Final Pot: $35.20

![]() | I raise more pre-flop, you are inviting a multi-way pot without making it enough to narrow the ranges of most opponents (anything they are limping with they are calling). My question is what hands do you think fit MP1's open limp, call and then check-raise on the flop? Most villans would have re-raised premiums even if they limped with them originally so I rule out AA, KK, QQ and AK here. A pair 99-JJ would usually have raised before the flop, AQ is possible as is KQ, a smaller pair or even a suited connector (your small raise priced them all in) Another question... pre-flop what hand that contains a 2 could villan have called with A2s is about all, and this is only 1 combo out of many. Hands that contain queens you are crushing (or tying with). Smells of a pair to me, a monster calls that flop and builds from there - a vulnerable pair wants to end it now... I 4-bet the flop a pot committing amount ($20) and expect to villan to fold his pair 66 to 99 most of the time. Cheers, Mark |

![]() | I think Marks advice is pretty accurate here. When I was reading your hand I was thinking the guy might have a hand like KQ or possibly the same hand as you. I think you probably should have taken a more aggressive approach to the hand and re-raised the flop, led at the turn. The more I think about it, the more it feels like KQ. The big bet on the river was made to get you to fold(if you noticed that he was TAG, he probably noticed that you were Tight and Passive and would probably fold a 1 pair hand to a big bet) ![]() I also think you should have raised more preflop, maybe 4-5 times at this low of a limit, you want to define your hand a little better and get a few gamblers to fold preflop, the smallish raise just creates a pot for the players to gamble with.
