In case any of you have a blog and a Bodog poker account, I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the tournament Bodog hosts on Tuesdays for a shot at a WSOP seat. Basically, it is an 18 week long tournament series whereby the top 18 people in the points ranking at the end will sit down to play for a 12K WSOP seat. The point system they use is based on number of entrants each week. Players that finish in the top 30% of the field each week get points. The tournament is already halfway through the 18 weeks...but it is not too late to register and play. The current points leader made enough points from just 2 of the weeks that he could sit out the rest of the events and still get one of the 18 seats. I believe 2nd 3rd and 4th also receive tourney token prize money in the 18 person final. I am not sure how strict Bodog is on enforcing having a blog...but it is easy enough to start one up. Even if they rule you had to have one at the beginning of the tournament series, it is still worth starting a blog now and playing in the weekly event. Here is why. The buy in each week is $10+1. The weekly prize payouts is determined by the number of entries x the $10 entry fee (standard). However, Bodog sweetens the deal by paying the top 5 finishers T$109 that can be used toward entry in any bodog Tournies. On top of that, Bodog refunds the entry fee as T$11 (or $10) to the top five bubble finishers. So if they get 50 entries and pay the top 5 spots, the $500 prize pool will be divided among the top 5 finishers according to standard payout structure. Then, Bodog will also pay the top 5 a bonus out of Bodog's pocket of tournament entry fee credits of $109 each. Then they would refund finishers 6-10 their entry fee in the form of tournament credits out of Bodog's pocket. JD Schellnutt. Click on the link on the right side of the blog entitled "WSOP Qualifier Tournament" for details. They already had Josh Arieh (Bodog Poker Pro) play in the tourney with us a few weeks back and put a $100 bounty on him. One of the event coordinators from Bodog hinted to me via an instant message comment the other day that next weeks tourney (4/22/08) may have another Bodog Pro play as well (prob. either Josh again or Evelny Ng, Jean-Robert Bellande, or David Williams). Good luck.
