| In news that was broken a few days ago on his blog, online poker player and former owner of the PokerDB.com NATAREM posted that the television news show 60 Minutes has contacted him about possibly doing a story on the Absolute Poker scandal that was exposed a few months ago. ... ![]() | This can't be good for poker. I realize the whole incident sucks, but we have enough problems in the online poker business right now without a 60 minute expose. Jason

| This is definitely not something poker needs on 60 minutes for it's image, but I think it's good for all the poker players in general that this is brought out in the open for all to see. We'll see what happens with this and what kind of a spin, if any, 60 minutes puts on it. |

| I believe this is a good thing for poker. The exposure that they got caught and the corresponding punishment was given may deter cheaters in the furture. Who knows, maybe the United States Government will realize that people will play no matter what, that the smart thing would be to try to regulate it to prevent any further damage. If this is gonna make the news I am fairly certain in this interview "TheVoid" incident from Pokerstars will be discussed. He was punished to the furthest extent. A) winnings garnished B)Banned from stars C) public Humiliation from the poker community

![]() | Well it's still in the discussion stages, so it's not set to go ahead yet and may not even happen. Also as the majority of people who don't play online think it's all rigged anyway I can't see it affecting things much, just another news report that will be forgotten in a week or so. They discussed this on Pokerroad radio few days ago and one of the views was that as the "genie is out of the bottle" with online poker the incident may even help the arguement for legalisation and regulation in the US.

| That's true that most of the people that will pay attention to this show are really the ones that already thing the online poker is rigged. I had not heard about this yet being on 60 minutes. Curious to see how they will present it. |

I was part of an interview about 3 years ago, ironically from 60 minutes, about online gambling but my segment and many others were all edited out. I will try to find the video of what actually aired on 60 minutes. I have the link to the video somewhere. Edit: I found the video, but it's huge over 1 Gig and has all the commercials in it, I will have to edit the commercials and other 60 minutes segments out and figure out how to compress the video's size some. | You have a point in that they do cut out a lot and then could be left with all the bad points of it. Would love to see the video, thanks. |
