The best hand I've got of all poker games I played was only Straight Flush. I just missed the Ace. Darn!

I have had about 7 or 8 royal flushes over the years. I don't really keep track anymore but they are rare!

I did have a nice hand in a live tournament a few weeks ago where I busted another big stack when I had pocket kings and the flop brought 2 kings as well! He thought he was pushing me off a big bluff and the table was amazed when I called his all-in re-raise and turned over 4 kings! That was a great hand! I of course went on to win the tournament :)

Good for you! I never had a Royal Flush but I do get good hands though. I'm more of a stealing the blinds kind of player.

I had a jack high straight flush that beat a 10 high straight flush. The bad thing was that it was only for around $30. I would have bet the house on that hand and that guy would have called in a second!

I've had about 5 or 6 Royals in about 10 years. Like PoWda mentioned they are rare, but if you play alot (especially online, because of the volume of hands and multitabling) you will eventually get one.

It's not the question, but I've also flopped a straight flush, and lost to a bigger straight flush, talk aobut sick and it was obviously a huge pot.

If you play long enough, you will see it all.

After years and years of playing on Pokerstars and Full Tilt I don't even flinch anymore when a runner runner double gutshot straight hits to mow down my set or lower straight. You could lay the statistically worst possible beat on me and I would say nh and go onto the next one. You eventually do see it all and at a point you realize it doesnt even matter. Dust yourself off and play the next hand, if you can't do that you are better off taking the rest of the day off.

I will say one crazy beat I had was having aces heads up at the end of a tourney. We were both dealt pocket aces and he caught the flush. I was left with bareley a big blind and took 2nd place

A few Royal Flushes, all online, with a Jack-high str8 flush my highest hand live.

I used to treat myself to a glass of champagne whenever I got any kind of str8 flush, but with the online boom, I had to throw that policy out the window to avoid becoming a raging alcoholic . Nowadays if I get a Royal Flush, I make a note to treat myself to a glass of French Champagne (forget that crap in California ).

Your question asked for the "best hand" and that can be the hand that won you the most money as well. My highest tournament win was $16,000 in April 2007, and the hand that got me that was (wait for it ...) As Td, which earned me the key pot near the end of heads up play. It earned me $16,000 so it wins the "Best Hand" nod from me .

I'm in the str8 flush category for best hand as I have yet to taste a royal flush. I've had plenty of them so I don't have an exact total number.

I have played poker for many many years and I have yet to get a Royal Flush, but I have had plenty of straight flushes which give you the same result. Well, maybe not for Jason, sorry to hear you lost with a straight flush. I've lost with quads though. So, yeah straight flush is the best hand ranking wise. I've had smaller hands that have won me more money though.
