What is your favorite poker play? Bluff? Check-Raise?

When playing poker what poker play do you like to use and enjoy the most when it is successful.

Is it a bluff?

A check-raise?

I like using a variety of plays to always keep them guessing, but it's always a great feeling when I make a great bluff. Knowing that if they call you will probably lose, but seeing them fold is just an awesome feeling.

It doesn't happen often, but I call it the "coup de grace" (pronounced /ku də gras/) of poker, or for those who don't know what the hell I'm talking about, the trifecta. I'm talking about check raising on all three streets

It's an incredibly difficult play to pull off, all the circumstances have to be just right, and your read on the player has to be perfect but I love the feeling after pulling off this play.

This is more of a limit maneuver to get two bets out of him on each street instead of one, right? I never play limit outside of HORSE, so I was sort of confused by your answer at first.

I'm trying to improve my limit poker skills, as I find HORSE SNGs are a blast (only for play money since I'm still learning). Jason, I wonder if you would be interested in starting a new thread about the check raise in limit poker and how to best apply it?

Mine personally is the check-raise. I've been told by all the guys I play with every single time I do it they get turned on! LOL! They say they can never tell when I'm going to do it so that's why. So I mean come on...what else would be my personally favorite then?!

I got to admit that's the first time I heard someone say that when they check-raise it turns people on

Perhaps it's not really the check-raising that gets them raising.

yeah, I primarily play limit holdem, the triple check raise is next to impossible in No Limit, although I've seen it once or twice in 8 years.

LOL probably not and I know it sounds crazy! Just what I've been told....although I'm sure it has nothing really to do with the check-raising and more to do with "other things" lol
