Default Vegas or Atlantic City?

Where do you prefer playing when you're not playing online... Vegas or Atlantic City? And why? Or do you stay strictly with online poker?

If you want the true gambling experience, Las Vegas is the only place to go. The 2008 WSOP is just a couple of months away. If you want to get the feel of tournament poker and play against the very best, you should make a journey to Vegas.

Like Dawyg said, Vegas is great. All kinds of action from very small to extremely ridiculous and everything in between, the games are normally very good. Of course, I'm somewhat biased as I've lived in Vegas for 8 years and love it here.

Having said that, there are a lot of great places to play in the US, and around the world for that matter. Poker is popular everywhere.

From a pure $$ aspect, Vegas and Atlantic City are pretty similiar in the action available, except at the very biggest limits.

Los Angeles is the undisputed action and parlay capital of the US. Its not uncommon to see someone playing 4-8 one day, 30-60 a few days later, and then maybe even 100-200, then a week later you see them back at the low limits starting again. Lets just LA players are big time action players and really bring a new meaning to the word "gamble".

I prefer playing online for now, but I do enjoy the occassional live game.

With respect to Vegas and A.C., Vegas is well known around the world and Atlantic City somewhat, but you don't really need to go there to find a palce to play poker. You can find casinos in many countries around the world where you can play some decent poker. A quick search of casinos in your area should be easy enough ;-)

I actually really enjoyed Atlantic City when I was there. I liked it just because it was less crowded. That being said I think either one is a good place to play poker.

Okay I gotta be honest, I've never been to Atlantic City before. But don't worry. It's on my list and I promise I'll be there soon. Anyway, still I don't think any city can beat Vegas. I just love it there. It's the atmosphere that does it for me.

You can NEVER go wrong with Vegas. Bellagio, Mirage, and the Venetian are great places to play poker - and you can load up on infinite amounts of drinks in the process. Your wallet and your opponents will thank you later on in the evenings, I'm sure.

Good luck with either choice! I'm just biased considering I visit Vegas at least once or twice a month, and I'm only about 5 or 6 hours away since I'm in Arizona...heh.

You're definitely right about Vegas. Those casinos are just staggering. Each one has its own unique design and things, so that's also pretty fun to consider. There's really no other place like Vegas.

I personally live 2 hour drive from Atlantic city and play there often. But my favorite place to play so far has to be the Foxwoods in CT. The place is absolutly gorgeous. Certain parts of the ground was so clean you can eat off of them. It also helps that 100% of the dealers knew the game and spoke perfect english.
