| Are you a good bluffer? Or are you the guy or gal on the receiving end when someone else bluffs and you lose? I'm really glad to be a bluffer 'cause I'd be a sore loser if someone pulled it on me. ![]() |

| I have pulled off a few good bluffs in my time. I couldn't tell you for sure how much I've been bluffed because I don't always see the cards as my opponents will muck. |

| I've also had a few fantastic bluffs under my belt. But I'm not really sure how my playmates rank me as a bluffer. What I think is probably different from what they think. All I know is I'm definitely not the best bluffer around, but I'm not the worst either. |

| I personally feel Bluffing is one of the most over rated tools now a days in poker. No one folds. I tend to bluff only at small pots that no one wants. By doing this it gives me 2 huge advantages. A) Picks up loose pots to play a big pot with others B) It makes me look like im a wilder player than I really am. Which in turn when a big pot comes up they think I am bluffing in which I will get paid.

| I don't go too crazy with the bluffs. There are some bad players you can't bluff and good players you can bluff. Some players try and bluff way too much. I was just watching some good bluff on video the otehr day. Scotty Nguyen made a great bluff against Humberto Brenes. |

Way too much... oh absolutely some people do that, but that just shows how inexperienced they are. There's a place and time for it and overdoing it points toward an amateur. | |

| Katharina......You are correct bluffing too much is a bad thing but depending on the table you are at it can be a good thing. In the late stages of many of the high buy in tournies you can get away with raising 75% of the hands that are dealt to you and almost double your stack by just picking up the blinds or continuation bettign after the flop. Another time this is a good strategy is when you are at the final tabkle and the payout differences are big people will fold hands they should be playing or even reraising with in fear of moving up 1 or 2 pay spots. Just my 2 cents

| Yeah although bluffing is a big part of poker I rareley do and when I do bluff it is usually more of a semi bluff. I think too many people bluff at too many pots. Honestly I am not going to get into some bluffing war over a tiny pot. Sure I might continuation bet with nothing but there are other things happenening that induce me to bluff, such as weak acting opponents and good position or other similar circumstances. I am not saying I don't bluff, there are times for the big bluff, but people bluff far to often and I figure why risk putting my chips in the middle on a bluff when I can make decent money picking off others peoples bluffs? |

| There are times where you can pick up a lot of pots with a bluff if you are playing with tight players. In the late stages of tournaments or when it gets close to the bubble some players will play tighter. You also need to watch out with your bluffing as there are players, like me, that look for those that bluff a lot and I like to set the trap up for them. |
