Recommendations for Good DVD?

I'd like to find a good DVD on the basics of playing Texas Hold 'Em. Mostly I find people who are willing to teach you in order to get into a game but are far too quick in explaining logic that they already take for granted because they've already learned the ropes.

Any good starter DVDs that I could check out? Thanks for any suggestions.

I have not seen any actual videos that would help. I imagine there are some but I just have not seen any of them. I know I have learned a lot just by watching tournaments on tv. Not that I will ever be as good as them but they have helped.

I don’t know anything to suggest to you. Maybe some of the old members here can help you. I hope that you can find one. If you manage to find one please post it in here so that we can all benefit from it.

I think Mike Caro's Pro Poker Tells DVD would be a decent choice.

It highlights many of the visual tells which you can pick up on playing live action poker.

Thanks for the recommendation. I ran a quick search just to see what was out there. I was actually surprised that there were so many of them. I didn't get a chance to read any of the reviews though.

I think I've learned the best and picked up the most things by watching poker on tv. Watching how the professionals handle things. I've also picked up quite a few tricks from playing with my guy friends that love poker as they've started taking me out to the bars to play with them.

Although they always tell me to wear a low cut shirt because that will help me win...personally I think it's for another reason altogether. haha

This sounds like a good recommendation for a DVD, I agree. If it's too expensive for a buyer, be aware that Caro also has a book of poker tells that might be beneficial. That said, I'm tactile and would choose to SEE things on the DVD over just reading them.

What about good movies that have to do with poker? I know that sometimes, instead of listening to formal instructions, it can really help if you are just a casual observer.
