| So the discussion with BigFish about multi-tabling got me thinking; what are the pros and cons of multi-tabling. I figure I will name a few and everyone can add what they think. In no particular order, although some have a bigger affect than others: CONS 1)Inability to have good reads on your opponents. I know it is already hard enough to have a true "read" on someone at the online poker table and if this is true, multi-tabling pretty much nixes any chance of ever getting a read. When you get disconnected from the table you are going to win less and lose more. The more tables you play, the less connected you are. 2)Any leaks in your game will be magnified by however many tables you are playing. Obviously on the flipside of this is that the more tables you can play solidly the more money you can make. 3)Tilt on one table can hurt your play on another. Obviously this will not be an issue at one table but when you are on 4 tables and get sucked out on for the 5th time in 2 minutes and are down on one or two tables the tilt can affect your play on all tables. 4)In games like Stud and Razz with exposed cards you will often times miss a ton of free information, your opponents door cards, by playing multiple tables. I almost never play HORSE, 8-Game, or any Stud format or Draw game on mulitple tables. So those are some cons. What are some Pros? PROS 1) Theoretically, if you are playing a solid game on each table you should make more money than playing just one. Still, this is easier said than done. 2) Patience. If you are busy playing AA on one table it makes it that much easier to keep from raising the KJ in late/middle position just because you are getting a little bored and know you shouldn't. I personally think this is one of the best benefits of playing mulitple tables. So those are a few pros and cons for multi-tabling. What can you add? Personally it depends on my mood. Some days I am in the mood to grind 5 tables of No-Limit, others I just want one Stud game up. I will say that my results overall have proven to be way better at one table with my full attention. What do you think?

| I like your points. I have a friend who multi tables as it is the only way he can keep a solid game, less than 3 tables and he gets bout's of fancy play syndrome and makes big mistakes. I am completly opposite, I can play some tables ok for a while, but all my biggest silly mistakes that cost me most money is when I am not concentrating fully. cash no, I only play 2 now!! sng's are fine as less decisions are needed and ranges are more defined. I am currently mainly playing HU sng's, there is no way I can multi tab these profitabley (yet?) |

| I think it depends on the type of game you're playing (though I'm pretty sure you're discussing hold em here). For example, I think it's a lot more difficult trying to multitable stud games since you have to try to remember what cards are already out. I think the biggest con that you mentioned is tilt. You have to be able to disconnect yourself. Unfortunately, that's really difficult for many players.

| Cons: Tilt No reads Greater possibility of misclicking You have to be better than slightly above average for it to be +EV (Eg, if your only just a winning player at certain limits, your likely to be a losing player if you try multi-tabling these limits) Little time to think over hands, must make automatic decisions. Pros Higher $/Hr |

| I am learning that for me playing one table slightly higher limit than I would multi is working well for me.

| I think multitabling is the way to go. You might lose a little per 100 hands by multabling compared to playing a single table, but it will be more than made up for in volume.
