Default PokerStars WSOP $1 Million Giveaway Freerolls

Are any of you playing in PokerStars' $1million promo WSOP freerolls?

There is a freeroll running every hour and you are allowed to enter 1 per week. (Week is Sunday to midnight Saturday) Top 50 in each freeroll get to play in one of the weekly finals.

Finals have seat/s to the WSOP main event to be won.

It's been running for a couple weeks already so has anyone been playing or do you consider them a waste of time?

Not a bad way to parlay some money if you are on a budget or dont' have much of a bankroll.

I generally prefer to just pay to get into a multit bable tournament, steps tournament or double shootout, but I have money to spend also.

PokerStars gives away more seats to the WSOP than anyone.

I tend to not play in these considering the fact there are so many people. I just do not think playing for 6 hours to get nothing if i finish 51-100

Like kickboy said, the odds are just to long against actually getting a seat, it is more like a lottery.

Freerolls like this I will sometimes open and make the window size really small. Then I just fold everything except AA and KK and don't really pay any attention. If you get lucky a couple times you can amass some chips and wait for people to start getting serious. In the second hour it may actually start resembling a real tournament. That being said even then most of the large stacks at that point will have gotten their chips by making crazy moves so the bad beats will still be plentiful. Largely these are a waste of time.

The only problem with these tournies are that my days of 14 hour playing sessions are over. That is what these tournies turn into. You are right though collect a lot of chips or just get out quick and do not waste a few hours of your life.

I think these freerolls aren't too bad if you wait to play later in the week when there aren't the full 5000 playing in them. Due to the fact you can only play in 1 per week, it seems most are playing early. I notice later in the week and late at night you can find them with less than 2000 players. The one I played last week had around 1800. Which isn't too bad.

Sure it could be a waste of time where you get nothing, but so could any other type of buy-in tournament whether it's a $5 buy-in or a $500 buy-in, there is still a chance you'll waste your time and come out with nothing.

If you treat everything in life as wasting time if you're not making any money, well...then people are wasting a lot of time... all the time ;-)

I would much rather put some money in against a smaller field where my chances of actually getting a return are much greater than to play a free game where my chances are about nil of getting anything. Sure there is nothing better than free money but it isn't exactly easy to get to it and you chances are just so slim, I can't devote that much time to a lottery. I might open one of these if one happens to be running and I am having a marathon day but that is about it.

The freerolls are turbo and they don't take all that long to reach the top 50. It's not too hard to play this while playing other tables at all.
