Kickboy asked me a question in the Wynn Poker Tournament thread about players that are annoying.


Two types of players come to mind, and are at the top of my list:

• The antoganistic and argumentative player - there is almost nothing worse than playing in a great poker game and having the fun mood spoiled by some jerk who wants to argue with other players, the dealer, try to create fights and a create generally negative mood spoiling the bad players fun. Any positive expecation the antoganistic player may bring to the table is quickly negated by spoiling the bad players fun. I've seen it happen numerous times, where some guy is being a jerk, and the tourists just get up and leave.
• The Know It All - the guy who thinks he knows it all and constantly tries to educate players and tell them how bad they played their hand, why they shouldn't have called, etc. For example, the know it all might say something like "how could you call two bets with your gut shot straight you were only getting 4 to 1 on the pot and you are 11.5 to 1 to make a straight, you should buy a book." I know it sounds far fetched, but I've heard these type of comments a lot over the years.

My 2 big ones that annoy me are
A) Old lady who thinks she knows what she is doing but has no clue
I had one of these ladies in a tourny in Atlantic city last weekend tell a new player after he bet into her with another player all-in "we r suppose to check it down , it is proper ettiquete" I , personally viewed it as collusion but what do I know? I am primarily the annoying internet player. lol

B) Smelly Large guy
no need for details here

what annoys me so far:

> men and women who keep yelling and shouting in angry when losing, blaming the dealers fault or others

> people who criticize others as they are no better than them

> people who keeps on kicking the slot machine if lose

> idiots who thinks they know the game rule well but they are actually wrong.

I love it when Mr. Online-Poker-Is-Rigged starts typing away in the chat box after his KK gets beat by K2 with runner runner 2s. On FTP there seem to be a cadre of players who believe that the software favors suckouts by dominated hands when all in. Of course if you are based in reality you know that this is entirely ludicrous.

The great thing about online poker is that the chat box is very easy to ignore!

I dislike the player who berates others but for differeing reasons. Basically they scare the fish away and that pisses me off. I had a guy about a year ago in a live PLO game tell me "there is no raising in Omaha pre-flop" and that I "didn't know what I was doing." I told him I needed his advice like I needed to be punched in the face. Honestly if you are ever going to try and educate another player or tell them what they are doing wrong you are breaking a huge rule in poker and to me that makes you nothing but a mark. Honestly what do these guys want the fish to get better? In my book, telling a bad player they are bad is the worse move you can make in poker (any form). If you want your opponents to "play to your level" then you honestly do not have a very deep understanding of the game.

I also hate the little old lady. The one that calls your pot sized bets to the river and hits that miracle runner-runner river gutshot on you. I hate her.

The big smelly guy. I think that one is obvious.

I always get a kick out of the know-it-alls that are playing in the freerolls. If they were as good as they think they are, wouldn't they be playing in the higher stakes games?

You ask them why they are playing in the freerolls and they say "I don't have money right now"...

I rest my case your honor! LOL
