Default Most Important Non 'Cards' Skill?

The mechanics of playing poker, hand reading and adjusting to opponents / situations are all important aspects of winning in the game... however there are many skills which are equally important including:

- Controlling 'Tilt'
- Bankroll Management
- Game / Table Selection
- Learning to Multi-Table

and so on.... for the sake of discussion we can call them 'non-card' skills.

Would be great to hear members views on these skills, both in relation to the relative importance of the 2 skill sets in a consistent winner and which of the 'non-card' skills listed is the most important to you...

Cheers, Mark

Bankroll management.

If you can't protect your bankroll nothing else really matters.

I'd have to agree with PoWda by saying Bankroll Management and also throw in Game selection.

I've seen a lot of marginal players survive in Vegas by just choosing the right games and living within their means.

On the flipside of that coin, I've also seen some really talented poker players who spend money like it's water, and keep playing higher, and higher until they go broke.

Online I would say BR management and tilt control. You really need to be in control of your money if you want to get anywhere, and if you're constantly putting it at risk by playing at too high stakes and by not keeping focused, all the skill in the world isn't going to help you.

Online, I see table selection and the ability to multitable as a way to boost your earnings rather than them being fundamental to actually winning money from the game.
