I basically got involved through a good friend of my fiance. At the time, he was in town for some reason and needed to borrow her computer because he had won a seat into an online tournament. That's how I found out he played. Shortly after that he moved to town and started hosting a weekly game. I had always been interested in poker and asked him if he could teach me. After a quick rundown he invited me to start coming to his games. (After all, everybody loves the new guy, right?) I basically sat timidly in my seat until my entire stack got blinded away. I picked up a few pots here and there, but I mostly watched. I was intrigued, so I started to go regularly.

I got into poker by playing with friends when I was in my teens. We played draw poker and we played for change or cigarettes. I don't really recall how my first ever poker game went though. Eventually I picked up Texas Hold'em and I have loved playing it ever since.

![]() | I had played poker as a kid with my brother and cousins, and often played other card games like hearts and Canasta with my Dad. I've always enjoyed playing cards. ![]() In 1992 or 1993, I started going to an Indian casino called "Tulalip", north of Seattle Washington, to play 1-4 7-Card Stud, They had a big action game with $5 chips, but it was some funny looking poker game, with cards turned face up in the center of the table, I had never seen this game before. I rember vividly standing there and trying to figure out what the hell the game was, because it looked really confusing. ![]() I don't really recall how i got started playing holdem. Probably my seven card stud game broke up or wasnt' going. Jason

College for me was where I learned how to play the game, however I never really thought I never really played with much thought, of course I was drunk half the time so that doesn't help :P But when I really got "into" poker, was like 7-8 years ago, when I found professional poker tournaments on the Travel Channel. Of course during a poker tournament, your going to have poker commericials, so I saw a Ad, and decided to check it out online. I started to play with free chips, shortly found out most people didn't take it very seriously and thought I would deposit a small amount.

My grandpa used to paly 5 card stud with me when I was little. In middle school me and my buddies played draw poker pretty frequently. Then me and a good buddy of mine got into 7 card stud and eventually tourney hold em a few years before the moneymaker thing. Wow how things have changed and wow how I hate tourney hold em.

I got into poker by my recent ex-boyfriend. He was very into it and would often play in cash games in the basement of my dorm in college. He taught me pretty much everything he knows about the game and I've grown to love it. :D

I broke my back wrecking my motorcycle on the freeway Aug 30, 2001. I was in a coma for 13 days and woke up to the aftermath of 9/11. Anyways, I was going to be in traction for six months and I was going insane watching post 9/11 on tv. A friend of mine gave me a computer and introduced me to online poker. The rest has been a thrilling ride of ups and downs for life and poker alike. Good luck on the tables and I hope to get the opportunity to play and get to know some of you better. ![]()
