![]() | Decided to play some NL holdem cash games today (between working on my sites), since I had not played much at Carbon Poker I found a $100 NL table (50c / $1) blinds and sat down.... One player in particular was donating big time (table was generally bad but this guy was almost giving it away!). He left after a while and I followed him to a new table, 15 minutes and some big pots later and repeated this... again I followed him (had to wait 5 minutes). The 4th time and 5th he figured me out and sat out as soon as I joined.... doh! Oh well, got about $80 out of him so can not complain. My question is whether anyone else actively 'follows the fish'? (hopefully in a more subtle way than me - but then again I do not often play at the cash game tables!) If 'yes' then what are your specific criteria for identifying someone to follow?? ![]() | I used to do this religously, until the player got irritated. I'd keep a fish list on an excel spreadsheet and just start writing down names when I thought someone played bad. Then, the following session I would use the sites search feature and look for these players. .I don't see anyting wrong with it at all, game selection is probably the single most important aspect of the game. You might be the 50,000th best player on your favorite site, but you will make money if you play with players worse than you. Jason

| I usually do not follow the fish. I like to stay at the same table for a long period of time because I will usually figure out on how every one plays and I will take advantage of this. I do all my my cash game playing at Poker.com. I usually play the 50/1.00 NL games but once in a while I will play higher stakes like 1/2 and 2/4. People aren't any better at higher stakes than people who play lower stakes they just have more money to lose. I started with 30 dollars at poker.com and now I have 1800 dollars playing strictly cash games. Here fishy fishy. |

| I have looked for players that have played bad before. I haven't really followed someone from table to table, but it sounds like something that could be profitable. I have even kept notes on a bunch of players and any betting patterns they may have. |

| I've done that for sure. I might have stopped after he left the 3rd time, but I used to search for players everytime I logged on. Full Tilt is great that way, it saves your recent searches.

| I have done this once in my life, the funny thing was it was one of the Full Tilt sponsored players. He was playing very, very loose raising and reraising in a 30-60 limit game. I ended up like 3k off this guy within a matter of an hour followed him to 3 tables.
