| I'm not sure if exercise helps your poker game all that much. I have seen a lot of out of shape people do fairly well at poker. BUT, it is a good idea to keep in shape for a lot of other reasons. |

| This thread reminds me of some poker pros that have made weight loss bets. I have been thinking about it and if I made substantial bets with people over losing weight I would become a very skinny man pretty quick. |

| I think exercise is one person's foundation, and another person's bane. We all know exercise, along with a moderate, balanced diet, is good for the human body and mind. My wife (avatar pic), God love her...can eat anything and never gain an ounce. Her idea of exercise is walking to the Jaccuzzi. Before I met her, I weighed 325 pounds. I had been in a bad relationship for years and was climbing the health care mgmt ladder. So, to make a long story short, and was stated earlier in this thread, You Have To Want To Change. I began to work out regularly and eat right. Over 100 pounds later, I met the woman of my dreams. I attribute my change in attitude, success and happiness to the physical and psychological benefits of exercise. Yes, it most assuredly affects how one plays poker.

| I've been very interested in fitness for as long as I can remember. I do as much as I can without damaging my body through excessive amounts of exercise, my diet however isn't as strict as some but by average standards it's very good. I don't think my mind would be as healthy as it is if my body were not. It helps to have a healthy body, but is by no means essential to a sharp mind. If you want to get better at poker, play poker, read about poker, talk about poker, it'll show more improvement to your game than you'll get from doing situps. |
