Default Charity Poker Tournament - Children's Tumor Foundation

Hello everyone,

I'm Chane, My nephews Braeden (age 4) and Bronson (age 2) both have neurofibromatosis (NF) type 1, and as a result have bilateral optic glioma brain tumors. In addition, Braeden has congenital pseudoarthrosis of his left tibia (leg bowing) due to his NF. Braeden has successfully completed 60 weeks of chemotherapy treatments and one day his tibia will likely be replaced with a steel rod. Bronson began chemotherapy treatment on February 27.

We are having a tournament at Full Tilt (and running in a 10k race) to raise money for the Children's Tumor Foundation. You can read more about it here:

Active.com Donations

(You can also make direct donations at that link, every little bit helps!)

Here are the details of the tournament:

Tournament #44269053 20:00 ET (8 PM ET)

Name/Title: Children's Tumor Foundation
Password: charity
Date: April 23
Time: 20:00(8 PM)ET
Buyin: $5 + $5, The fee goes to the charity, the buy in to the prize pool.
Game: NL Holdem

Phil Gordon, Lynette Chan, Karina Jett, Mike Swick, Adam Schoenfeld and Chris Klecz are already registered to play!

Other pros that have shown interest, but haven't registered yet:

Andy Bloch, Paul Wolfe, Kristy Gazes and Michael Craig. These pros will register the day of the tournament if they are around.

I'm waiting to hear back from a bunch of other pros as well and I will continue to contact them until the day of the tourney.

We also just had a gentleman donate 18 autographed copies of his new poker book and another gentleman donate a few copies of Rounders DVDs to be given as prizes.

For $10 you can play against some of the best players in the world AND raise money for the Children's Tumor Foundation. Can you think of a better way to spend 10 bucks? I can't.

You may want to get registered now! It's going to fill up extremely fast with 10 pros. We only have 900 spots and 33 (maybe more) are already filled with 18 days to go!

Hey Chane, just posted a story on PokerOwnage about the tournament. It should show up in the Online Poker News section here at this site considering I do all the news for Poker Strategy Forums - for some reason though the feed isn't being pulled properly and Jason is out of town, grrrrr.

My prayers are with your nephews and I hope everything will be ok. I'm sure the tournament will be a success considering it is for a good cause. It's great that some poker pros are going to take part in it.

Thanks for your responses!

Here's a quick update:

We have 13 Pros - 103 Total Players - 12 Days to Go - Only 900 Seats!

Here are some photos of my gorgeous nephews. They are the happiest kids ever and bring so much joy to our family. They will have you laughing your ass off within minutes of meeting them. They're constantly laughing - it's very contagious.

They know very little about the "bumps" on there head, as they call them. Except for their tumors they have EVERYTHING going for them including a very loving family.

Here's the youngest one, Bronson (age 2).

And here's Braeden (age 4) with University of Michigan's Football Coach Rodriguez. (The hospital they go for chemo and other treatment is right on the campus of U of M.)

This is a photo of Braeden at swimming lessons. The "bump" you see in his chest is a port that they surgically inserted so that they could give him his chemo shots easier.

He calls it his "button" and absolutely loves it and loves to show it off. After 60 weeks of chemotherapy, he just recently got it taken out and was very sad about it. The same week, his brother Bronson got his port inserted. He doesn't like his so much right now, but he is awfully young to have it.

I've registered for the tournament. Just a reminder to all PSF members that I will be matching the $5 donation to all members who enter this tournament.

Also, Chane if you could make yourself a note to post a reminder message about the tournament the day before the tournament that would be cool.

As an added incentive to get Poker Strategy Forums members to register in the Charity event, I have decided to have a $5 entry fee tournament with $200 added just shortly after the start of the Charity Event. You can read about the details of the tournament here:

http://www.pokerstrategyforums.com/c...&day=2008-4-23

As noted in the tournament info, this isn't meant to replace the Charity Tournament. If you can only afford to play in one event, please play in the charity event.

Thanks,
Jason

Thanks,
Jason

Sure just let me know when, and how much via PM. Anyone else needs assistance with a transfer to Full Tilt from another site just send me a PM (private message to GoodKarmaKid not Admin).

Thanks,
Jason
