Default Anyone Trying To Win A WSOP Seat?

Just wondering... many sites have their World Series seat qualifiers well underway now - any members won a seat yet, or got through to one of the 'supersatellites'... or are even thinking of giving it a go.

Would be great to hear some opinions on the different satellite qualifiers you intend to try!

Cheers, Mark

<-- buying in direct but if I see a good looking sattelite I might give one a shot.

I'm not ready to buy in directly for the main event but I'll look at some satellites at a few sites to see if I can go that route this year.

If I were to buy my way this year I would probably look at one of the smaller tournaments as I've never been to the WSOP before.

I think I'm going to play more of the double shootouts this year, I like that format because I excel at short handed play, all you have to do is win two back to back one table satellites which I'm sure lots of you have done, althought the first level is usually much easier to win.

Yeah I am buying in to a $1500 event, not the donkey luckfest $10,000 lottery ticket that is the Main Event. I am planning on playing in the $1500 HORSE event. I played the $1500 Razz event and $2000 NL Hold em event last year and it was honestly the most fun I have ever had in my life.

I agree completely, I answered someones post here: http://www.pokerstrategyforums.com/875-post26.php
with some advice on playing WSOP events. A quick summary is that I think most players would get much more benefit from playing lower limit buy in events. The experienced gained, and the possibility of finishing in the money is greatly increased.

<--- total agreement. I plan on playing the ME if I cash huge and that is it. Unless I have enough to play a bunch of prelim events AND the main event I won't be playing it. Even if I won a sattelite to the Main Event I would use the buy-in money for many smaller events for sure.

I agree with you guys and that's why for my first trip to the WSOP I would play a couple of the lower buy-in events. It just makes a lot more sense instead of plunking down $10,000 for the main event along with the huge field of players.
