Default 1 Year From Now...

Quick (but deep!) question

Where do you see yourself in relation to poker in a years time?

- A pro (like Jason!)
- Moved up to cruch the $2 / $4 no-limit (or whatever your target may be)
- Given up completely
- Making a couple of 1000 $$$ each month to pay for toys / holidays.

Thinking realitically where would you expect to be??

Cheers, Mark

I would like to think that in a years time I have progressed to making $1,000 per month, hopefully more. I play every day if I can and when I do, usually play for 2 to 3 hours - really enjoy playing Texas Holdem.

Well, I'd like to think of myself sitting at the WSOP final table, but.......

more realistically, I'd like to be building my bankroll instead of replenishing it.

I have made mega-strides in the past 6 months. I win much more than a year ago. I now place in the money with imporoved regularity when I play tournaments, with much credit going to members of this forum.

Thanks!

Hopefully playing 10/20 or higher limit Hold em, O8, and Razz.

My bankroll has been very low lately, and I have been very busy with the baby, full time school, and a full time job so I think this goal is acceptable and realistic.

I am taking a break and am not letting myself play until I have flawless bankroll management, easily the biggest leak in my game. If I had been playing proper bankroll management from day 1 I would be playing pretty high today. I think in the end I want to be able to play some of the bigger games. If I could play higher than 30/60 comfortably some day I would be completley content with my game. I have a hard time being content with stakes like 1/2, 2/4, and 3/6. I really just have that urge to play a decent stake. I don't expect or even really dream of getting to 30/60 in a year, but setting a goal of at least 10/20 limit is a step.

Basically just to learn more. Haha.

Mainly, I want to learn more about a poker players mentality, especially when on a massive downswing - I think thats probably my biggest weakness atm.

Def will also look to play the PCA/Aussie Millions again. Other than that, I just have volume goals, which are super hard to meet lately.

I think to continue learning is key for me, at times I feel as though I can get a little rusty if I don't excercise my mind a little. Multi-tabling seems to make playing poker very machine-like, so actually taking a step back from time to time and contemplating all the plays and reasoning behind the way a certain player has done something can really help you to progress as a player.

That and value betting on the river could do with a bit of a touch up.
