I like to bluff more in tourneys or sit and goes because I believe some well timed aggression will always give you an advantage and help you be more successful and make the larger money. However in cash I find I often don't bluff enough (in my opinion) because I feel I don't need to put my neck out because I can always wait for another hand. Sometimes I think I play tourneys too aggressive and cash too tight. It is kind of odd.

I am a great bluffer. The only way to get good at bluffing is to practice. At first it may seem hard but over time you will learn when to bluff as well as how to read bluffs. Both aspects will make you more successful and hopefully wealthier as well.

I actually use the tactic of bluffing at small pots that no one wants. This gives me 2 HUGE advantages.

1) I win the small pots that allow me to stay aliev in the tourny or cash games.
2) This allows me to have a Wilder image than I truly play. In return, when a bi gpot comes up and I have a monster hand I will get paid off on it.

I agree with Kickboy's thoughts above. Another important thing to consider is who your opponent is. Really bad players that populate the weekend low buyin tournaments will call with middle pair or ace queen high, they just can't help it. It's best to target bluffs at players that you have a good read on and that you have seen lay hands down. I have probably lost more chips on bluffs gone wrong than any other move in poker.

I just feel it is pointless to bluff at big pots. Once a player puts a lot of chips in the middle they normally do not want to give up on it.

Agreed. I used to lose a lot of chips when I would raise with AK and then get four callers. Then at the flop there are 12 BBs in the middle and the pot is already big. If the flop comes 2 4 8 I still might be ahead, but a decent 50-75% of pot cbet is now committing a huge chunk of my stack, and the guy who called with J8o is looking to take it to the river.

I've learned to just let these pots go. That same guy calling with J8o will gift his stack next time when you have kings.

You have to be able to bluff every now and again, and sometimes it's good to be caught bluffing because it keeps your opponent thinking.

I don't bluff as much in online poker, because it seems people like to bluff a lot online, but in live tournaments I tend a bluff a bit more, but not that noticeably.

I play alot of cash games so bluffing is a thing I do alot. The POWER of betting is huge in cash games. Tournament play you can be more patient in the beginning and pick your spots. Bluffing is huge later in tournament play when the blinds start to climb. Bluffing is a huge part of my game. People will never know if I am bluffing or not. In the 5 years I have played poker I have never shown anyone my cards and I never will. If you want to see my cards you have to pay to see them.
