Why can I not cut or copy when typing in the text box?

What I mean is when I am typing a message in to the text box (or whatever you want to call it, I am typing in it right now) I cannot cutor copy text. I use cut/paste and copy/paste a lot for editing posts and not being able to do this really cramps my style and is just odd. I usually right click and select "cut" or "copy" but I do not have these options and it is only on this site. I have even tried the little scissors button at the top of the box and that doesn't work.

I don't get it. I can paste from other sites. Just wondering as I have tried a few times now and it is kind of annoying to have to re-type everything rather than cut and paste to edit posts.

Powda keeps posting it is really hurting any chance I have of winning the posting contest. Can you suspend his account for 2 to 3 days?

I think it is a vbulletin quirk, you could use the shortcut keys ctrl-c (copy), and ctrl-v (paste), or in the advanced editor mode of this box when typing a post there is a little scissors icon (cut), and then the two icons just to the right of the scissors are copy and paste.

Hope that helps, I will look into why the right click context menu doesn't have copy/paste, etc

Almost all items on the forum have what is called "alt text", meaning if you hover the mouse over the icon it should tell you what the icon does.

You guys are keeping each other busy and making me look like a slacker

By the way your book was mailed yesterday (by priority mail), I mailed PoWda's by some discounted media mail and he still hasn't got it,even though I mailed it like a week ago, it's going to be really embarassing if your book gets there before his.

Thank you for that Jason. Control C works! I did try the scissors button before and it doesn't work for me.

hmm, strange. Did you highlight the text, then click the scissors??

What browser are you using?? I will try to emulate it.

Heh... It's allright. I am still wrapping up the Full Tilt Strategy Guide and just finished Ken Warrens "Winners Guide to Omaha Poker" so I am in no rush.

Internet Explorer.

This is my work PC but it doesn't work on my home PC either as I messed with it last night. I use IE there to but I can try Firefox from home later today.

Oh yeah and thanks for the CTRL + C advice! It works great that way.

I should have thought to try that.
