Hi All,

Well, again a new member

I'm Rik de Graaff, 18 years old (next week 19!!).
I love to play poker, but I also love a game of darts.
I study, at home, PHP & MySQL Professional.
Why at home?

Well, I have a heavy form of Autism, and a social phobia.
Thats very difficult to deal with...
I almost can't go outside.
Mostly I am 2 hours per week outside.
That's very annoying...
But I am in therapy, luckily.

Well you can find me, mostly under the name "deGraaffR", at the well known poker programs.

If you want to know more about me, or something else, don't hesitate to ask

Greetings from Holland,

Rik

For the sake of this thread I will be using a single table sit-n-go as demonstration. Most strategy is the same for all variations with small tweaks here and there, but the general concept applies to all formats. The game starts when the pre determined amount of players register. In this case once nine players have bought in, the game will begin. Blinds will start off very small and increase gradually as they would in a tournament. Your goal at the beginning stages of a sit-n-go are to not bust. I know this should be your ultimate goal and may sound a bit confusing but hear me out. Most of the time the weaker players will be very active early on and spewing chips all over the place. They try to bluff and are very hard to get to fold. Because of this we are going to be very reluctant to play any type of non premium hand.

Poker players who are just starting out to play and learn the game often make very common mistakes that can be avoided by adhering to a few common principles. Although it has often been said that in order to learn the game of poker, you have to take your lumps and lose a bit before you get a better feel or understanding of the game, some of the losses most beginning players experience while learning can be negated. We will look at some of the most common mistakes made by beginner poker players and explain how to avoid them, thereby saving yourself plenty of money.

Perhaps the most popular game being played at online poker rooms are the turbo 180 mans on Poker Stars. At one time these games were my most profitable of any that I played. If I was running badly in cash games I could always count on these as a backup. The reason for their popularity is a couple reasons. For one they offer a very high payout for first place. With just a $2.20 entry fee you could take home over $100 in prize money. The second reason is most likely because they play like a tournament. This attracts those with limited time looking to get their fix. These games can be very lucrative if proper strategy is applied. They can also be very frustrating at times since you will go through streaks without winning. The times you do win will more than make up for the times you don’t.

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have a question for the more advanced Poker players out there.

First of all my problem is that I play at the micro/low stakes cash games online and often I find that I reach a point in the game where I can't seem to win anymore money and the game just basically levels out for me.

By leveling out I mean I've varied my playing style between tight, solid, aggressive and play a big range of hands but cannot seem to make anymore money at a table once people at the table are scared of calling my bets.

Does this mean I am good enough to move up to higher stakes or should a very good player be able to endlessly win at any table regardless of the stakes?

When you've read a story about any successful online winner and how they made the moves up to the nose bleed tables what was the decisive factor in them knowing when to move on from the low stakes cash games?

I know this is probably quite general but any chit chat about it is thanked in advance :)
