I actually switched from
Cardplayer to
BLUFF a year ago. I was tired of the endless photos of pros in Cardplayer and the articles mostly engaged in ego-massaging that wasted my time. An exception was Daniel Negreanu's column that I recommend anyone to read though all of them online, from the oldest to the newest. Outstanding content IMHO.
BLUFF is fun to read and there is real content. I was blown away by Justin's article recently explaining the difference between looseness and aggression.
Each magazine runs a site and
www.bluffmagazine.com/pokerdb allows you to put your friends who play online into a friend's list ... so when any of your friends makes a final table or cashes in a tournament, ... you get an email.
The print version is great, but I usually cut out the few great articles and file them by theme so i can reread them later ... the rest of the ads become kitty litter

.
Cost: There is always a deal to get
BLUFF for a year at $9.95 somewhere (I think the site
www.bluffmagazine.com) and I would be surprised if
Cardplayer did not have something similar. Outside of the U.S.,
BLUFF is reasonable but Cardplayer has a huge additional charge.
