Default Re: I folded Aces before the flop, am I an idiot??

Just wanted to add some follow up notes to my original post. Obviously, I know I'm not an Idiot. I just added that for a little sensationalism.
The actual point of my post was that once in a blue moon, if the circumstances are absolutely perfect, you may find yourself in the very unusual circumstance of folding aces being the technically correct play. I've played about 15,000 hours of poker and never folded aces preflop, and I can only think of one time I have folded kings.

Agreed, I could have just clicked sit out, and walked away, but once in awhile the short stacks seem to keep surviving, so you should keep an eye on the stack sizes.

At some point somebody has to pull the trigger to burst that bubble.
Actually, up until very near the bubble, I probably busted more players than anyone.

One key element I left out of the original post was the player to my immediate left (who had 2nd largest amount of chips) kept getting involved when I was playing pots, re-raising me and making a bunch of ridiculous bets. I really didn't understand what he was thinking, clearly didn't understand the dynamics of the situation.

So I decided to just not play any pots and risk the 2nd chip leader sucking out on me.

This was an interesting hand to discuss and probably one of the only situations that you could ever fold aces preflop.
