Gus is one of the best poker players in the world. People see 2-3 hands on TV and think he's just tossing chips around like a fool. If being a maniac at the table was easy money, every drunk vegas tourist would go home rich.
Tournament wise, he's won millions. With 3 WPT titles (more then anyone else).
I've heard he's lost a lot in some high stakes cash games. But those are some of the best cash game players in the world. Hanson seems like a competitive guy who probably doesn't know when to quit. Along with his loses in sports betting.
But poker wise, skill wise, he's one the best players in the world. Bankroll management? Probably a D-. But that would put him in some good company with guys like Ted Forrest.
